About Me

I was born and raised in St. George, UT.  I have ten siblings, five brothers and five sisters.  I graduated from Dixie High School where I was active in Seminary, Band, Choir, Madrigals, and I was the photographer for the Yearbook Staff.  I graduated from Dixie College, where I got my A.S. degree in Photographic Arts and was active in Choirs and Institute

I served a mission to New York City, which was life-changing.

I went to BYU where I majored in Broadcast Communications and got my B.S. degree.  I was also a singer in the Young Ambassadors and was on the backup Ballroom Dance Team.  While there, I taught at the MTC and worked at the Motion Picture Studio as a designer/writer.  I also worked on my M.S. degree at BYU and taught classes as a graduate student.

While at BYU I met my wife, Wendy, in a ballroom dance class.  She was the TA and was strikingly beautiful and talented.

I was recruited as a faculty member at Ricks College, and that same summer Wendy and I were married in the St. George Temple.  A year later I finished my M.S. degree from BYU.

At Ricks I taught Media Production classes for education majors and was Dept. Chair of Educational Media.  I also taught Mission Prep classes for the Religion Dept.  Wendy was the Yearbook Advisor.  We were directors of the Madison Avenue Dancers at Madison HS.

All five of our wonderful children were born and raised in Rexburg.  We built a home south of town in Lyman and enjoyed a semi-rural lifestyle.  Two children served missions and four are married.  We have ten cute grandchildren.

As Ricks College became BYU-Idaho, I became Director of Media Services, and then Academic Technology.  I now am in the Curriculum Development Department, where I supervise the Faculty Technology Center and am a faculty technology consultant.  And I teach Technology Basics classes.

During my time in Rexburg I served in four bishoprics and then as a bishop of a single student ward.  I also served as Elders Quorum President and as Gospel Doctrine Teacher.  One of my favorite callings of all time was Ward Choir Director.  More recently I served as Stake Sunday School President and as a member of the Stake High Council. I’m now the Stake Executive Secretary in my home stake.
